The year 2024 marks 25 years since the inception of St. Michael the Archangel Parish. To commemorate this milestone Defenders' Ball is celebrating our beautiful school. As we remember the traditions that have been created we also look forward to the next 25 years and how we can prepare the school for the future through improving access to technology resources. In a special way Defenders' Ball will be honoring our SMA school - rooted and grounded in love.

DEFENDERS' BALL TICKETS

Tickets to Defenders' Ball include cocktail hour, live and silent auction, a plated dinner by Brancato's catering and a special show for the evening - Late Night at SMA. We are excited to welcome comedian Justan Spaid to entertain guests with interviews, games, and more. It will be a great night of laughter and fellowship while raising money for school technology. Defenders' Ball Team

DB Chairs Ken and Kelly Byrd Ken and Kelly met in college and have been married for 12 years. They moved to Leawood and joined St. Michael the Archangel Parish in 2018. Their 4 children all attend school at SMA: Lucy (6th), Noelle (3rd), Henry (K), and Andrew (preschool). Ken is a physician at University of Kansas Medical Center specializing in malignant hematology. In his free time he enjoys coaching and fishing with his kids! Kelly works as a pediatrician at Children's Mercy but spends the majority of her time shuffling kids to various sports and activities. Ken and Kelly also serve on the advisory board for Alexandra's House, a local perinatal hospice organization, and work to share the beauty of this organization with the greater KC community.
DB Co-Chairs Michael and Brandy Rhea Michael and Brandy Rea reside in Leawood, Kansas and have been parishoners at St. Michael the Archangel since 2007. Their two younger children, Carson (9) and Stella (7), attend St. Michael the Archangel Catholic School and love their amazing, faith filled education! The Reas are also blessed with a special son, Brody (12), that attends a program through Blue Valley Schools. Michael is the founder and CEO of Rx Savings Solutions (RxSS), a pharmacy software business. Brandy is a corporate attorney by trade and recently moved from working at RxSS full time to spending her professional time doing philanthropy work and directing their family foundation. The Reas enjoy entertaining and are honored to be involved in the Defender's Ball, and are grateful for a wonderful parish and community at SMA!
